Savory Soy Garlic Tofu Balls That Will Wow Your Taste Buds

  • 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons Chinese black vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetarian oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil
  • 2 stalks scallion, chopped
  • 1 medium shallot or red onion, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, diced

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine minced garlic, Chinese black vinegar, soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, sugar, water, and corn starch. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
  2. Heat neutral oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the white parts of the scallions for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add diced shallots and red bell pepper, cooking for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour the prepared soy garlic sauce into the skillet, stirring gently. Cook for about 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Introduce the tofu balls into the sauce, coating them well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Spoon the Soy Garlic Tofu Balls onto a serving platter and garnish with green parts of the scallions, best enjoyed warm.
