Easy Sheet Pan Caramel Apples: An Incredible 5-Step Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional toppings (chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Apples: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Remove the stems and insert a wooden stick or skewer into the top of each apple.
  3. Make the Caramel: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil and reaches a golden-brown color.
  4. Coat the Apples: Once the caramel is ready, quickly dip or drizzle it over the apples on the prepared sheet pan. Make sure each apple is well-coated in the luscious caramel.
  5. Add Toppings: If desired, sprinkle your choice of toppings over the caramel-coated apples before the caramel sets. Allow them to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh apples for the best flavor.
  • Work quickly with the caramel to avoid it hardening.
