Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional garnishes: fresh parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces, trimming off excess fat.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced onions until translucent, then add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  3. In a bowl, combine beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  4. Place steak pieces in the slow cooker. Add sautéed onions and garlic. Pour marinade mixture over everything.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender.
  6. To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry. Stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  7. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
  8. Stir the steak bites gently to coat them in the sauce.

  • Use high-quality meat for best results.
