Soft Loaf Recipe
Ingredients:
- 200ml (3/4 cup + 2 tbsp) warm water
- 7g (2 tsp) dry yeast
- 350g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 50g (1/4 cup) sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 45g (3 tbsp) butter
Instructions:
- Prepare the Yeast: Dissolve the dry yeast in the warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate Butter: Gradually add the butter to the dough, continuing to knead until the butter is fully incorporated and the dough is soft and smooth.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- Shape the Dough: Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan.
- Second Rise: Cover the loaf pan with a damp cloth and let the dough rise again for about 30-45 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool: Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
