Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 pound spaghetti
Extra virgin olive oil (for cooking)
Additional grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix until just combined.
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.
In a large skillet, heat a few tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them cook in the sauce for about 15 minutes.
While the meatballs are simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
Once the meatballs are cooked through, gently toss the spaghetti with the marinara sauce and meatballs in the skillet.
Transfer to a serving dish and top with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired.
