Stuffed Mushrooms with Italian Sausage is an easy and delicious appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems and chop them finely.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Add the minced garlic and chopped mushroom stems to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage mixture, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  6. Spoon the filling generously into each mushroom cap, pressing down slightly to pack it in.
  7. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle a little olive oil over the stuffed mushrooms.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
