This recipe delivers incredibly tender and flavorful Sweet & Smoky Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs, perfect for any occasion. The slow cooker method ensures fall-off-the-bone meat infused with a delicious sweet and smoky BBQ flavor. Finish with a quick broil for a sticky, caramelized glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs (approximately 4 pounds)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper until well combined to create the marinade.
  3. Evenly coat both sides of the ribs with the marinade, brushing generously. Reserve about 1 cup of the marinade for later.
  4. Place the ribs in the slow cooker, curling them to fit if necessary. Pour the remaining marinade over the top.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.
  6. Preheat your oven broiler. Carefully transfer the cooked ribs to a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  7. Brush the reserved marinade onto the top of the ribs.
  8. Broil for 2-5 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning, until the sauce caramelizes and becomes sticky.
  9. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones. Serve with additional BBQ sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate the ribs overnight.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper to your spice preference.
  • Ensure ribs are evenly coated with marinade for maximum flavor.
  • Watch ribs closely during broiling to prevent burning.
