A dear friend from Spain introduced me to this incredible recipe, and I must say, it’s the best dinner I’ve ever had! The rich flavors and comforting textures make it an unforgettable meal. Here’s how to create this culinary delight:

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 600 grams of minced beef
  • 100 ml dry red wine
  • 300 grams of chopped tomatoes
  • 40 grams of butter
  • 1 leek, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • 80 grams of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 300 grams of pasta (your choice)
  • 150 grams of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Vegetable oil
  • 3 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • A pinch of nutmeg

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Meat Sauce:

  1. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the minced beef and cook until browned and fully cooked.
  4. Pour in the dry red wine and let it reduce by half.
  5. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until the sauce thickens.

2. Make the Béchamel Sauce:

  1. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced leek and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in the flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.

  6. Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

3. Cook the Pasta:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions.
  3. Drain the pasta and set aside.
