Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
1 cup water
8 taco shells (hard or soft)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
Salsa or hot sauce (optional)
Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the skillet. Sprinkle in the taco seasoning and pour in the water. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
While the beef is cooking, warm the taco shells according to package instructions. This can usually be done in the oven or microwave.
Once the beef is ready, fill each taco shell with a generous amount of the seasoned beef mixture.
Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Add sour cream and salsa if desired.
Finish with fresh cilantro for a burst of flavor and color.
Enjoy your Classic Beef Tacos while they’re still warm!
