Delightful Christmas Wreath Palmiers with Cinnamon-Sugar Magic

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets Puff Pastry (store-bought)
  • 100 g Granulated Sugar (can use brown sugar for enhanced flavor)
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon (optional: use pumpkin spice for a twist)
  • 1 Egg (beaten; omit for a vegan version)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together 100g of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon in a small mixing bowl.
  3. Roll one sheet of puff pastry onto a floured surface to about 30x40cm (12×16 inches) and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  4. Layer the second puff pastry sheet on top, sprinkle remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture, and press down lightly.
  5. Slice the stacked pastry into 1.5-2cm wide strips, then cut each strip into three smaller sections to form plaits.
  6. Twist each plaited piece gently and arrange in a circular wreath shape on the baking sheet, overlapping ends slightly to seal.
  7. If you have leftover pastry strips, shape them into bows and add them alongside your palmiers.
  8. Bake for 18–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
