Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tea bags (black, green, or herbal)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 2 cups sparkling water (or club soda)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove the pan from heat and add the tea bags. Allow them to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  3. Remove the tea bags and stir in the granulated sugar until it dissolves completely.
  4. Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Once the tea is chilled, stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  6. Just before serving, add the sparkling water to the tea mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  7. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the fizzy iced tea over the ice.
  8. Add fresh mint leaves and lemon slices for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
