- 1 (12-oz.) package semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. table salt
- 1 cup chopped toasted pecans (optional)
- 2 large eggs
Instructions:
- Brown the Butter:
- Melt the butter in a small heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown, which takes about 6 to 8 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat immediately and pour the butter into a small heatproof bowl. Cover and chill until the butter is cool and begins to solidify, approximately 1 hour.
